Corfiot cuisine is internationally renowned, and with good reason. It’s easy to eat well here; you can take your pick from the wide variety of world-class options scattered around the island, with options for wherever you’re staying and whatever your budget. Although by October the tourist season has finished, many of the island’s exquisite eateries remain open – nonetheless, we’d recommend giving restaurants a call to double check their opening times and availability before you plan on dropping in.

- Chris’s Place, Pentati
Located in the small village of Pentati and overlooking Agios Gordios, Chris’s Place offers a range of traditional Greek dishes cooked to perfection and at very reasonable prices. If you pass by during the day, enjoy the spectacular view of the island’s western coastline accompanied by a cup of Greek coffee and some homemade baklava. If you’re there for dinner, be sure to ask for the daily special or for Sophia’s homemade moussaka.
2. Oasis Taverna, Strinilas
Part of the charm of Oasis Taverna in Strinilas is that it is situated beneath a 350-year old elm tree in the village’s main plateia. The village itself is located just 10 minutes away from the summit of Mount Pantokrator, making Oasis Taverna the perfect pitstop on your way back from a long day’s hiking. Ask for the special to enjoy a fresh, traditional Corfiot dish at a fair price.
3. Panorama, Agios Markos
Located around 30 minutes away from Corfu Town, Panorama offers an unpretentious menu of traditional and tasty dishes at reasonable rates. Their main selling point, however, is the unforgettable view over the island’s dramatic eastern coastline. 4. Taverna Doukas, Doukades
Taverna Doukas looks out onto the central plateia in the picturesque village of Doukades, located on the hilly western side of the island just above Palaiokastritsa. They specialise in traditional, homely Corfiot dishes at very affordable prices… and their pastisada may just be our favourite on the island.
5. Ambelonas, Pelekas
The Ambelonas estate is a must-visit if you’re interested in environmentally-conscious eating and travelling. The restaurant specialises in home-cooked Corfiot food made with seasonal, local ingredients, all grown on the estate. This means that their menu changes with the seasons and each dish is as fresh as it could be. In addition, the restaurant strictly follows energy-saving and water-saving protocol and is a member of the Greek Ecotourism organisation. Though the price is on the slightly higher side for the island with each main course costing €12 to €15, the tasty food is worth the price, and as a bonus you can feel reassured that you’re supporting the restaurant’s commitment to the environment.
6. Klimataria, Benitses
No list of top restaurants in Corfu would be complete without a nod to Klimataria. Known as one of the best fish restaurants on the island, the restaurant is located in the fishing village of Benitses, just 20 minutes south of Corfu Town by car. Though it is a little pricier than many restaurants on the island, the price is reasonable for the food’s remarkable quality. Be sure to order their unmissable psari bianco, or white fish in a lemon, garlic and olive oil sauce.
7. Del Sole, Corfu Town
Though Del Sole doesn’t serve Greek or Corfiot dishes, it nonetheless deserves a place on our list. Located in the heart of Corfu Town in one of its many quaint, pedestrian backstreets, Del Sole specialises in delicious Italian cuisine, delivered in a romantic atmosphere. It’s on the more expensive side for the island but the portion sizes are generous, the quality of the food is impeccable and the atmosphere is hard to beat.
