Even on the Greek islands with the best infrastructure there are beautiful beaches that are only accessible by boat. This has its positives – these remote beaches will always be less busy and are more likely to remain pristine. Then there are other beaches, easier to approach by boat, but also accessible on foot via the footpaths that run through the forest or along the cliffs. These beaches reward the adventurous beachgoer with the view of the beautiful blue seas at the end of the path… I love visiting beaches by boat, but to me there is something special about these downhill treks through the olive groves that always end in the peace and tranquility of the blue green Ionian waters.
